October 2, 2012 Ray Washburn

Ray Washburn
Mr Washburn pitched for the St Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds from 1961 to 1970. His best season was in 1968 when he won 14 games with 8 losses. On September 18, 1968, he threw a no-hitter against the San Francisco Giants but what is weird is that the previous day, Gaylord Perry threw a no-hitter against the Cardinals. Back to back no-hitters. In 1969 he was traded to the Reds for another no-hit pitcher, George Culver.
