January 11, 2014 Don Buford and Rich McKinney

This one I mailed out back in August 2012 and was pleasantly surprised when I opened the envelope....

Don Buford
was the leadoff hitter for the great Baltimore Orioles teams in the late 1960s early 70s. I remember watching the 1969 World Series and watching him hit the leadoff homer against Tom Seaver in Game 1

Rich McKinney
came up with the Chicago White Sox in 1970. I remember that Mr McKinney was supposed to be the regular third baseman for the Yankees in 1972 but then the Mexican rookie Celerino Sanchez took over and played there until Graig Nettles was acquired from the Indians.He finished up with the Oakland A's.
