This one I mailed out back in August 2012 and was pleasantly surprised when I opened the envelope....

Don Buford
was the leadoff hitter for the great Baltimore Orioles teams in the late 1960s early 70s. I remember watching the 1969 World Series and watching him hit the leadoff homer against Tom Seaver in Game 1

Rich McKinney
came up with the Chicago White Sox in 1970. I remember that Mr McKinney was supposed to be the regular third baseman for the Yankees in 1972 but then the Mexican rookie Celerino Sanchez took over and played there until Graig Nettles was acquired from the Indians.He finished up with the Oakland A's.

Got this straggler back from an August mailing.......

Jack McMahan
pitched in the major leagues in 1956 for the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Kansas City Athletics after he was traded in June of that summer. He finished with an 0-5 record in 34 total appearances

Tim Marting
was a First Round Draft Pick in 1966 of the Detroit Tigers. Though he never made the major leagues, he played in the Tigers organization until 1971. He appeared on a 1971 Tigers' Rookie card with Dennis Saunders.

December 5, 2013 Terry O'Relly

My friend Doug Keating had Boston Bruins tough guys Terry O'Reilly and Jay Miller signing at his card show the day after Thanksgiving. I made up a Boston Braves "pre rookie card" of Mr O'Reilly

Mr Keating will be having Johnny Bucyk at his News Years Day show and Rick Middleton and Ken Linseman at his January 20th show.

In 1966, no World Series cards were made so I came up with this...a combination of the AL and NL Leader cards   Minnesota Twins vs Los Angeles Dodgers

November 23, 2013 Three Returns This Week

Don Kessinger 
was the regular shortstop for the Chicago Cubs from 1965 to 1975. I'll always remember him playing with Glenn Beckert at second base. He was later traded to the St Louis Cardinals and finished his career with the Chicago White Sox.

 
 Joe McClain
pitched for the Washington Senators in 1961 and 1962 with an 8-22 lifetime record. 

Buzz Capra
I had posted a reply from Mr Capra a few months back and he had asked for copies of the cards I made and also said he would be glad to sign anything else I had, so I made up three more cards including a 1974 Traded card.

November 11, 2013 Two Returns from "The Friends of Ray Peters"

Mr Peters has been contacting former teammates and opponents from his playing days as I have been making the cards with images supplied by Keith from NYC.

Phil Meyer
played with Ray Peters in 1971 with the Eugene Emeralds in the PCL He was a first round draft choice by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1967 June Amateur Draft.and stayed in the organization until 1972 and finished with a 22-24 record in six seasons.

He included this amusing anecdote about autograph collecting in his letter from his days in Class A ball in Spartansburg.....I love it

Pat Harrison
didn't play with Mr Peters but they were both named to the Sporting News All American Baseball Team the same year. Mr Harrison played at USC and was on the 1968 National Championship team and eventually went into coaching as an assistant at USC under Rod Dedeaux, and as head coach at Pepperdine and Mississippi and then the Dodgers minor leagues.
