October 20, 2012 Bill Spanswick Jay Johnstone

Bill Spanswick
Bill pitched for the 1964 Boston Red Sox and went 2-3 in 29 games in his only season in the big leagues. He started in the Red Sox organization in 1958 and after going 14-8 in Seattle in the PCL the Red Sox brought him up for 1964. All three photos used for the card were originally black and white.



Jay Johnstone
I had gotten Jay Johnstone back two months ago and in a note he asked if I could make a Cubs and Dodgers card for him. I made those two up and added a Phillies and another Angels card using a nice B&W photo of him making contact in the batting cage.
